The Biltmore at Night
Sunday evening we went to the Candlelight Christmas tour of the Biltmore... it was gorgeous. Then, Monday morning we got up and went back for more! Really, the evening tour doesn't give you enough time, so we went back and did the audio tour. Jason and I are such history dorks that we could have stayed forever and looked at every detail. But, our heels were crushed, so we moved on!
I squish your (not) little house!
Then, we toured the Winery (we were some tourin' fools!) and then Jason did the wine tasting... which was fun times for me, as you can imagine! That about did me in... I was pooped!
Tuesday, we shopped around the Historic Biltmore Village and then drove to the Grove Park Inn. Another history-filled place, so we were in hog heaven! They also had some crazy Gingerbread House Competiton and you would not believe what these people can make with food!
We drove home Wednesday and I can really, honestly say that it was one of the most relaxing vacations I've had in a while. I'm usually OCD, cruise-director-like planner for these things, but I decided that we were going to have a nice, leisurely time. We slept in and I didn't over-plan. We just did what we felt like, and quit when we wanted... I even took a nap every afternoon!
